Windy weather left the Greater Rochester International Airport mostly empty on Monday.
Nearly all flights between Sunday evening and Monday morning were canceled or delayed. Only a few made it in or out of the airport.
A windstorm brought gusts that reached 66 miles per hours on Sunday.
The storm made it difficult for families trying to get back home after winter break.
“We’re coming from Cabo San Lucas and we flew into Atlanta and our flight was canceled because of the wind down here so we stayed down there at the hotel in the airport,” explained Morgan McMahon.
The wind is expected to calm down in the afternoon.
