ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — New York’s latest blast of snow has turned our landscape into a winter wonderland once again.
More than half a foot of snow fell Friday across parts of the state as our storm pulls east. Syracuse broke a daily snow record today with 7.8″ falling as of the afternoon update. Binghamton saw 7.2″ to sneak ahead of Buffalo in the seasonal snow total department.
In fact, both Binghamton and Syracuse have seen more snow than Buffalo.
Rochester remains king of the snow mountain as our seasonal snow total jumps to 70.0 inches.
No other city in the United States with a population of at least 100,000 has seen 70″ of snow. The month of February continues to show signs of an active flavor in terms of snow potential, so this appears to be Rochester’s title to lose.
