New York State is deeming a manufacturing plant in Ontario County to pose a signficant "public health and environmental threat," citing groundwater found to be contaminated with organic chemicals. The site is the G.W. Lisk plant in Clifton Springs.
In November, the USDA released the most recent update to its Plant Hardiness maps for the entire United States. The update comes just over a decade after the last one in 2012, where much of the country saw a jump to a warmer zone on the map. This update was no different, especially here in New York with a sizeable amount of the state now half a zone or more ahead versus where they were in 2012 on the 2023 map.
Nearly 2,500 drivers in our region still need to submit an eye exam to the state. As of Friday, according to the New York DMV, those drivers are at risk of having their licenses suspended.

Greece, Rochester, and New York State Police searched the G Spot Smoke Shop locations on Dewey Avenue and Stone Road on November 14. They also searched a warehouse on River Street in Rochester and a private residence in Greece.
