U of R and RIT women's basketball to go head to head

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - The only two local division III basketball teams still standing are the RIT and UofR Women.

They go head to head in a sweet 16 matchup in a little under 48 hours in Amherst, Massachusetts.

They're in the same 4-team pod with Amherst, the number one team in the country making Amherst the weekend host.

"It's really weird," said Lauren Deming, University of Rochester Guard. "Everyone keeps asking me if we're going to share a bus down to Amherst. I'm like, 'I guess economically that would make sense'. It's actually pretty hilarious, but I think it's cool that we get to play another Rochester team."

"It's going to be an incredible time," said Sydney Frank. "We cannot wait. We've been looking forward to this since the beginning of the season, since we lost to them last time. Very very excited to get another chance at them."

"It's amazing," said Abby Judd, RIT senior. "We finally have the chance to prove ourselves and prove that we're the best team from Rochester and we can beat this team and play at a really high level."
