A new contest is giving one talented winner the opportunity to cook and demonstrate their tastiest recipe during the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship this May 21-26 at Oak Hill Country Club!
Championship Director Bryan Karns discussed the contest Tuesday during News 8 at Noon.
“We’ve done a couple of contests over the last six months to get to people, particularly in winter, engaged,” said Karns. “There was a Cookie Contest last year, and we did the Office Golf. We feel like this is kind of the grand finale. Again this is another cooking-related contest. What we’re excited about in this contest is the winner actually has an opportunity to cook in our Fairway Club, which, again, is a chance to cook with a local chef of note, and really showcase their food skills. Not only do you have a cool contest to enter, but you get the chance to actually present to all our fans during the week of the tournament.”
Entering the contest is easy. “Basically, you go onto our Facebook page, or website at SrPGA.com,” Karns explained. “You follow the link, and there are instructions on how to post a picture of your recipe, and also post your recipe. We’re just looking for creativity, people who are excited about food and excited about KitchenAid, and can really do a good job that week showcasing their food in front of all our fans.”
Submit your recipe by April 1. Five finalists will be selected with the overall winner being revealed on Facebook on April 8.
In addition to the Fairway Club cooking/demonstration opportunity during Championship Week, the winner will also receive two daily Clubhouse tickets to the 2019 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, featuring the world’s best golfers 50 and over. The winner will also receive an iconic KitchenAid Artisan Series 5 Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer.
“We’re excited to offer this opportunity,” Karns said. “We’ve talked a lot about the chefs and the food, and the culinary aspect of this championship. This is really, I think, as unique of an opportunity as you can get.”
