The Rochester RazorSharks were victorious this afternoon in their attempt to dethrone the undefeated Kentucky Mavericks 105-99.
The Razorsharks have now won 32 straight regular season games at Blue Cross Arena. By displaying their dominant offense and persistent defense, the RazorSharks were able to snap the Mavericks’ three season undefeated streak. The RazorSharks suffered one of their 2 losses this season to the Mavericks in January, making this game much more meaningful. The RazorSharks came out hot in the first half, outscoring their opponent 56-48. Troy Jackson had a very strong first half, leading the team’s offense with 13 points. He would finish the game with 20, as well as 8 rebounds.
The RazorSharks narrowly held their lead over the Mavericks all through the second half, with an improvement in accuracy from three point range. Corey Allmond led the team with four baskets from beyond the arc, helping him reach his total of 22 points. Jerice Crouch added 16 points and 6 assists while Ayodele Coker locked down the paint on defense with 6 blocks. The RazorSharks are now 12-2 on the season and still undefeated under Head Coach Chris Iversen. Their next game is Saturday, March 12th at 1:05pm versus the second place, division rival Jamestown Jackals.
