Syracuse head coach Gary Gait has been named the 2017 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Women’s Lacrosse Coach of the Year.
Gait guided the Orange to a second-place finish in the ACC regular-season standings with a 5-2 record.
Overall, Syracuse is 15-6, which includes seven wins against teams ranked in the top 20 in the latest RPI.
The Orange advanced to the ACC Tournament finals for the fourth consecutive year, where they lost to the Tar Heels.
It marks the second time in the last three years that Gait has earned the ACC Coach of the Year award.
He also earned the honor in 2015. Gait was also the 2011 and 2012 BIG EAST Coach of the Year.
