Ogden Bears Junior Pee Wee team wraps up a wild season

Sports

The Ogden Bears are back home after a wild Junior Pee Wee season.

The Bears went all the way to the National Youth Football Championship game in Canton, Ohio.

The Bears overcame expectations to get the final and led in the 4th quarter against a team from New Jersey.

The Bears lost on a late touchdown, but from the kids to the coaches, it was a ride they’ll never forget.

“I was nervous as first, and then we started getting in the game and playing our hearts out,” said Branden Daymon of Churchville.

“The experience was crazy,” said Demetrious Battle, Ogden Bears Head Coach. “I’ve never experienced anything like that. It was an honor to go down and represent 585 and go down there and perform the way we did, it was a beautiful thing.”

“It was very, very crazy,” Derrion Glover, of Irondequoit. “I kept thinking about it. It was just crazy. I’m still thinking to this day, how did I do that?”
