Watkins Glen International announced Thursday there will be no IndyCar race at the track next summer.

In a statement released on twitter, the track made it clear the separation was only about not finding a mutually agreeable date for the race.

“Watkins Glen and IndyCar will continue to maintain a positive working relationship and will keep the lines of communication open.”

IndyCar did hold a race at Watkins Glen the past two years. Alexander Rossi won the Camping World Grand Prix at the Glen in 2017.

Prior to 2016, IndyCar raced six consecutive seasons from 2005 to 2010.
