Ray Leach rewrote the NYS football record book this weekend.
After falling in the Far West Regional each of the last three years, Leach took it upon himself to make sure it didn’t happen again to the Blue Devils.
The senior running back rushed for 417 yards and 8 touchdowns against Cheektowaga Saturday afternoon.
Both were New York State Public High School Athletic tournaments playoff records.
Leach had four touchdowns in the first 13 minutes of the game and also recorded a safety in the second half.
His eight scores also tied a Section V record for most touchdowns in a game.
Last week, Leach ran for over three hundred yards and six touchdowns in the Class B sectional final.
Leach and the Blue Devils will play Skaneateles in the state semifinal at 3 p.m next Saturday at Union-Endicott high school.
