Knighthawks visit Navy operational center

Local Sports

Before their Military Appreciation Night this weekend, a group of players from the Rochester Knighthawks visited the Navy operational center.

Each year, the team picks a different branch of the military to support during the game. As part of the event, players from the team will wear special jerseys that will later be auctioned off to benefit the Veterans Outreach Center.

The executive director of the Veterans Outreach Center, Laura Stradley, says it helps give the players some extra adrenaline.

She says, “They’ve commented that it’s really special for them. It kind of gives them a little bit adrenaline incentive to really kind of go out there and show what they can do for the men and women who have sacrificed so much on their behalf.”

The game will take place on Saturday and will start at 8 p.m. You can also bid on your favorite player’s jersey by visiting knighthawks.com/auction.
