Knighthawks commit to Rochester for 2019

Local Sports

For 24 years, the Knighthawks have called Rochester home.

Recent reports over the last month suggested they could be on the move.

The team put an end to that on Tuesday, confirming that season #25 will be here in Rochester.

“We know there has been some speculation about the future of the Knighthawks,” said Knighthawks VP of Sales John Catalano in a statement issued by the team. “We want to assure our fans that the team will be playing in Rochester next season.”

Rumors began last month when Inside Lacrosse reported that owner Curt Styres wanted to move the team to Halifax. The same report also mentions Styres selling the team to the Pegulas, who also own the NLL’s Buffalo Bandits.
