Brian Parker’s time with the New York Jets could soon be coming to an end.
The McQuaid grad was placed on the waived/injured list Friday afternoon as the Jets signed free agent WR Bruce Ellington.
As a player with less than four years of experience, Parker will be on waivers for 24 hours. Any other team in the league can claim him during that period.
Once Parker clears waivers, he reverts to the Jets’ Injured Reserve list.
Parker missed all of the 2016 regular season after suffering a nerve injury in his shoulder during training camp.
News 8 caught up with Parker at Jets training camp earlier in the week. The former UAlbany tight end said his shoulder was feeling better than ever.
