Local Sports

East High didn’t fail to deliver drama in the RCAC league championship, rallying to win 3-2 over Franklin on Thursday.

Tyrone Roundtree cleared the bases with a triple in the bottom of the fifth, only to score moments later on a throwing error that ended up in the Eagles dugout.

Franklin took the lead in the first inning on an RBI groundout from Jonathan Dones that scored Julian Cotto. The Quakers led 2-0 in the third after Frankie Santiago drove in Jhansell Carreras via a double to left-center.

East High has played in all 14 city championship games. Thursday’s win marks their 9th city title.
