Brighton rallies to top Pittsford in OT

After trailing by two goals in the fourth quarter, Casey McDermott fired home the winning goal in overtime to give the Brighton a 10-9 win at Pittsford on Tuesday.

Brighton led 3-2 after the opening quarter, but the Panthers responded with three goals in the second. Pittsford built three separate 2-goal leads over the next two quarters.

Trailing 9-7 heading into the fourth, the Barons’ Lukas Stanat struck quickly with two goals in 41 seconds to tie the game.

Brighton held Pittsford scoreless over the final 13 minutes of regulation.

Stanat led the Barons with four goals. McDermott, Olin Stanat, and Najeeb Awad each scored twice for Brighton.

Ryan Dumont and Sonny Imburgia each registered hat tricks for Pittsford.

Brighton is now 10-2 this season while Pittsford falls to 8-5.
