Gisele Bundchen was a guest on CBS This Morning on Wednesday. She was asked her opinion on when her husband, Tom Brady, should retire.
Her answer raised alarm bells all over the NFL.
“He had a concussion last year. He has concussions pretty much every — I mean, we don’t talk about it. He does have concussions,” Bundchen said. “I don’t really think it’s a healthy thing for a body to go through that kind of aggression all the time. That could not be healthy for you. I’m planning on having him be healthy and do a lot of fun things when we’re 100 I hope.”
The NFL has been trying to make football safer and handle concussions more appropriately. There have been many failures.
The league doesn’t think this is one of them.
In a statement released Wednesday afternoon, the NFL found no evidence of a Brady concussion.
“We reviewed all reports relating to Tom Brady,” according to the statement, referring to doctors on the field during Patriots games in 2016. “There are no records that indicate Brady suffered a concussions or exhibitied or complained of concussion symptoms.”
The NFL says it will work with the NFL Players Associate to continue gathering information.
Brady and the Patriots had no comment Wednesday.
