It was a wild night of high school soccer at Spencerport on Tuesday.
Felipe Hanuch kicked it off with a bang. Hanuch scored the goal of the year with a highlight reel bicycle kick, off a Brady McDermott free kick into the box with 12 minutes remaining in the first half.
Three minutes later, Jake Vitale headed home a Brighton corner kick to give the Barons a 2-0 advantage.
The score stayed the same until eight minutes remaining when Dylan Scott found the back of the net to pull Athena within one.
In the 84th minute, Scott’s free kick into the box bounced around until Antonio Monti cleaned up the rebound to tie the game up at 2-2 and send it into overtime.
Halfway through the first overtime period, McDermott sent a free kick into the Trojans zone which was headed on by Hanuch to Sam O’Connor.
O’Connor didn’t waste anytime and one timed the ball into the far corner and promptly removed his shirt in joy.
