ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A man in his 50s is dead after being hit by a car at the intersection of Roycroft Drive and North Street in Rochester.

Officers were called to the area around 8 p.m. Wednesday and located a 57-year-old city resident lying on the road unresponsive. He was rushed to Strong Memorial hospital and pronounced dead shortly after.

Rochester investigators believe the incident was not criminal in nature, as the operator of the car involved in the crash remained on scene and cooperated.

Police say drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the fatal crash.
