We all know who LeSean McCoy wants.
As the Bills hunker down to find a new general manager, McCoy voiced his support for Chiefs co-director of player personnel Brett Veach with an exclamation point laced tweet on Wednesday.
Veach was an assistant to head coach Andy Reid in 2009 when the Reid and the Eagles drafted McCoy. At the time, Veach was being groomed for a role in the scouting department and would become a highly regarded scout for the team just months after McCoy was drafted.
According to former Eagles scout Dan Hatman, Veach was pushing for McCoy to be drafted by Philly. It’s something McCoy confirmed on twitter a few minutes later.
Veach has been rumored to be at the top of the Bills’ list for a new general manager. He’s well regarded and is someone who Sean McDermott should know since the new Bills coach was also on the Philly staff when Veach was there.
According to Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star, the Chiefs have not been contacted by the Bills about Veach.
The Bills reportedly do have another GM interview scheduled.
The Texans gave Buffalo permission to speak with Texans’ player personnel director Brian Gaine and the Buffalo News reports he will meet with the Pegulas in Boca Raton Thursday.
Ian Rappoport from NFL.com tweeted late Wednesday that Panthers assistant GM Brandon Beane will also meet with Terry and Kim sometime Thursday.
