Bills fans got the short end of the preseason schedule. Though, there probably isn’t really a long end when it comes to NFL exhibition season.
Buffalo will host Minnesota week one of the preseason and Detroit week four.
That means Bills fans will likely see a series or two, at most, from the Buffalo starters at New Era Field before the regular season begins.
The first preseason is usually a get the feet wet game. The starters come in, play a bit and then hang the rest of the night on the sideline.
The final preseason game is a keep the team healthy game. Starters hardly ever play.
In between, the Bills will go on the road to Philadelphia and Baltimore for weeks two and three.
No exact dates and times for any of the games are set at this point, except for nationally televised games. Shockingly, the Bills won’t be in any of those.
The first game will be played sometime between August 10th and 14th.
These things go in cycles and the cycle was against Bills fans this year.
Buffalo and Detroit play annually in the final preseason game of the year. It was Buffalo’s turn to host.
In addition, Guns N’ Roses has a concert at New Era Field when the second weekend of games is played. That likely meant the Bills would have to be on the road that week.
The regular season schedule should be out in the next two weeks.
