The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has reported that they responded to the area of Lake Road and Colby Street in the Town of Sweden for the report of a car crash with one of the occupants being trapped in the vehicle.
Deputies say they found that a vehicle was making a left hand turn from Colby Street onto South bound Lake Road. While turning, the vehicle pulled in front of another vehicle that was traveling North on Lake Road and the vehicles collided during the turning movement.
Deputies arrived on scene and found the front passenger in the northbound vehicle was stuck inside the car as the door would no longer open but was conscious and had minor injuries. Firefighters freed the occupant of this vehicle and no serious injuries were found. This passenger was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with leg and chest pain.
According to deputies, the driver of the turning vehicle was transported to Unity Hospital with the complaint of minor pain. All injuries were minor and not life threatening.
Deputies say no tickets were issued. The vehicles were towed and the intersection is again open.
