The committee charged with evaluating the feasibility of a military-style school within the Rochester City School District is asking for community input.
It is asking people to take an online survey.
RCSD’s board of education formed the committee at the start of the month and gave it 60 days to look into the viability of such a school.
The school would be based off the Junior ROTC program operated in a few local schools.
Proponents say military schools teach discipline, leadership and respect.
Opponents, however, argue this type of school historically oppresses minorities and gives the military access to students when they are too young.
