Syracuse Police investigating after a dog was found beaten to death in its backyard

Syracuse Police are looking for a suspect or suspects who may have beaten a dog to death in its backyard.

Police say the dog’s owner called them around 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 26 to report that he had found his dog deceased in the yard.

The dog was in the backyard of a McBride Street home overnight, and appeared to have been beaten with a blunt object.

The dog was found dead by his owner in the morning.

Police say it appears that the suspect(s) may have passed through yards in the 400 block of East Division Street to gain access to the McBride Street backyard.
