A Central New York man is facing more than two dozen charges of animal cruelty.
Police say they were called to check on the welfare of several animals at a rented dairy farm on Route 20 in Edmeston.
When troopers inspected the barn, they say they found 27 dead cow carcasses and several inches of manure. They also say they discovered there was no food or water left for the animals.
After consulting with a vet and the District Attorney’s Office, police arrested and charged James Mumbulo, 45, with 27 counts of the New York Agriculture and Markets Laws misdemeanor overdriving, torturing, and injuring animals.
He was released and due back in court in November.
