Senate judiciary committee to vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination to Supreme Court

News

The Senate Judiciary Committee will vote Friday morning on Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court.

Senate lawmakers heard testimony on Thursday from Doctor Christine Blasey Ford, who claims Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were in high school.

Kavanaugh, who also testified, maintains his innocence.

The 21 senators on the judiciary committee will vote on a recommendation to give the full senate, which will hold a confirmation vote in the coming days.

If every Democrat votes against Kavanaugh, the GOP can only afford to lose one vote.
