  • Second-degree murder

  • Tampering with physical evidence

Lawrence was arraigned on Wednesday afternoon and pled not guilty. He was denied bail.

According to both the DA’s office and his defense attorney, Mike Vavonese, Lawrence has been found competent to stand trial.

The body of Lawrence’s custodial child, Maddox Lawrence, was found lying in the water near the Inner Harbor.

An Amber Alert was issued the morning after Ryan and Maddox Lawrence disappeared from their Valley neighborhood home on Saturday, Feb. 20.

Ryan Lawrence was picked up by police Monday evening in the village of Baldwinsville.

The District Attorney’s office believes the child was murdered in Labrador Hollow in Tully, which straddles southern Onondaga and northern Cortland counties.

The child’s mother, Morgan Lawrence, contact police after she found their family car in the Destiny USA parking lot and drove home – where she discovered a message from Ryan.

The contents of the message alarmed police when they responded to the home.

Lawrence is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday afternoon.
