24-year-old Ryan Lawrence has been arraigned on second-degree murder charges in the death of his 21-month old daughter, Maddox Lawrence.
The 24-year-old has also been denied bail.
Maddox Lawrence was found at Inner Harbor on Tuesday.
According to Onondaga County District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick, the child was killed in the Labrador Hollow area in Cortland County. Court documents say Lawrence admitted he killed his daughter and disposed of her body in the Inner Harbor.
Court documents also say Maddox was killed Saturday, hours before an Amber Alert went out.
Ryan Lawrence – the child’s father – was picked up by police on Monday in Baldwinsville.
The DA says jealousy might have played a role in this case.
Lawrence’s attorney says his client is innocent until proven guilty. “Again, the court called me last night and asked me to come in and assist in this matter, that’s what I’m going to do to ensure his constitutional rights are protected,” says defense attorney Michael Vavonese. “Then we’ll find out what the situation is at this point.”
News 8 also learned Lawrence attended Monroe Community College in the fall of 2009 and spring of 2010.
