ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Officers with the Rochester Police Department received reports of a bicyclist who had been struck Saturday evening in the area of Joseph Avenue and Clifford Avenue in Rochester.

When officers arrived at the scene they located the bicyclist who was being treated by AMR and the Rochester Fire Department. Officers say the bicyclist is a 42-year-old man and AMR took him to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Officers with the RPD said he is in stable condition but sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.

“The vehicle involved, a 2012 Honda, was traveling northbound on Joseph Avenue when the bicyclist entered the northbound lane,” an officer said. “The driver of the Honda did remain on scene and was not issued any traffic citations.”

Investigators said alcohol and drugs were not involved in the crash.
