ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A man is in critical condition after he was hit by a city garbage truck on Tuesday, according to the Rochester Police Department.

Officers said the 59-year-old man was struck around 11:17 a.m. at the intersection of St. Paul Street and Bausch Street. He was taken to Strong Memorial hospital where he is suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The area of Upper Falls Blvd. will be shut down as police work to investigate the incident.

Police said the driver of the truck is cooperating. They’re asking anyone with information to call 911.
