Rochester programs awarded grants to reduce negative impacts of invasive species

Seven programs in the Rochester and Finger Lakes region with the goal of reducing the negative impacts of invasive species were awarded grants, Friday. 

Rochester Institute of Technology, Macedon, Canandaigua and Brockport are just a few of the local colleges and towns who received funding. 

Governor Cuomo announced more than $2.8 million in grants to 42 projects. The projects center around control or removal activities, research and spread prevention.
