We’ve all seen fencing in the Olympics – and some Olympic champions have even come out of the Rochester Fencing Club.

RFC has sent members to the 1996, 2000, and 2008 Olympics.

There are plenty of ways to learn, including classes, camps, private lessons, and tournaments.

We stopped by the Rochester Fencing Club in Henrietta and asked an Olympic fencer to explain the sport to us.

“It’s just a great way to stimulate the mind and the body and you keep moving,” said co-owner Felicia Zimmerman. “Nothing is boring, and everyone you fence has their own style and game, and it’s a puzzle trying to match your styling game to theirs.”
