WASHINGTON, D.C. (WROC) — Congressman Joe Morelle is calling on special counsel Robert Mueller to testify publicly on his report into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
In a statement Thursday afternoon, shortly after the release of Mueller’s redacted report on the investigation, Morelle said because of the redactions, the public deserves to hear from Mueller.
In his statement, Morelle said: “Today, I received Special Counsel Mueller’s report on the Trump-Russia investigation. At over 400 pages in length, it is significantly more thorough and nuanced than Attorney General Barr’s four-page summary. I look forward to reviewing the report in detail over the coming days.
“Unfortunately, this report includes significant redactions, and that is why it is necessary that Special Counsel Mueller provide public testimony to Congress on his findings. Congress and the American people deserve nothing less than full transparency.”
