A grand opening was held Monday morning at Nate McMurray’s new campaign headquarters on South Park Ave. in Hamburg.
Tom Perez, Buffalo native and Democratic National Committee Chairman, came to western New York to headline the grand opening.
Since August, McMurray’s movement has gained more ground, and the number of volunteers has tripled.
This comes after Congresman Chris Collins was indicted on charges of insider trading.
After originally saying he was suspending his campaign, it was announced Monday morning that Collins plans to stay on the ballot.
“We’re fighting against corruption and that corruption is top down, and it’s a team of people who said this is our man and we need to fight that,” McMurray said. “People of western New York need to understand that the people involved in that team believed they could force this man upon you.”
Perez said, “Chris Collins lacks integrity. He’s raised taxes, he’s trying to take away healthcare and he’s been doing a disservice to farmers.”
