Rochester, NY (WROC) – Uniformed officers, attorneys, investigators, family and friends of Officer Daryl Pierson were all in court to listen to the closing arguments. That includes Locust Club President Mike Mazzeo.
Mazzeo has been here often throughout the trial. He says today is particularly important as this trial nears an end. He believes this will help all of the officers move forward and continue to do their jobs.
Mazzeo says it’s clear Thomas Johnson III intentionally shot Officer Pierson and he hopes the jury agrees. He also thinks District Attorney Sandra Doorley articulated that during her closing.
“I thought it was a really good closing,” Mazzeo said. “She presented the facts clearly and accurately. I think everyone in this investigation and trial has done an outstanding job.”
Mazzeo said this is the hard part now is waiting for a verdict, and that it’s anyone’s guess how long it will take to consider all six counts against Thomas Johnson III.
