Some abandoned homes in New York State could be getting makeovers with a new program called “Zombie 2.0.”
New York’s new Attorney General Letitia James made the announcement over the weekend.
James is launching a new program aimed at getting rid of vacant and abandoned homes across the state.
Zombie 2.0 is building off of a 2016 initiative from the Attorney General that will give up to $9 million in grants to cities to go toward repurposing so-called zombie homes.
James said better means of tracking vacant and abandoned homes is the key to ending the zombie home epidemic.
