We’re one step closer to that fantastic future experienced by Marty McFly, now that Nike has unveiled a new “self-lacing” pair of sneakers.
It’s called the “Nike Adapt BB.” The self-lacing basketball shoe is controlled remotely by a smartphone app.
It’s part of a product line called ”Fit Adapt” which features gear that uses apps and firmware that can be continually updated.
The shoes will be worn by NBA player Jason Tatum Wednesday night, when the Boston Celtics host the Toronto Raptors (8 p.m. ET).
Tatum will be the first NBA player to play a game in the new kicks.
