The spring ice storm that swept through Michigan is leading to a major cleanup headache for one vehicle owner.
Donna Lasley LaLonde says she was on her way home from work during Sunday’s storm when she spotted an SUV partially covered in ice. The vehicle was parked near the breakwall, outside the Galley Restaurant in downtown St. Ignace.
LaLonde says she snapped a photo of the vehicle around 11 a.m. Nearly 8.5 hours later, it was completely encased in ice.
The Mackinac Island News and Views group picked up LaLonde’s photo and posted it on Facebook. Within five hours, it had been shared more than 7,300 times.
LaLonde told 24 Hour News 8 Monday afternoon that the vehicle’s owner still hadn’t shown up to chisel out the SUV.
