Police arrested a Mexico citizen living in Dunkirk for possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor.
Officers said 25-year-old David Flores-Torres pleaded guilty on Friday.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeremy V. Murray stated that on June 5, 2018, a search warrant was executed at the Flores-Torres’ home in Dunkirk, New York.
Officers seized Flores-Torres’ cellphone which contained 79 images and 14 videos of child pornography. Some of the images depicted those younger than 12 years old, as well as depictions of violence.
Officers said that Flores-Torres also received and distributed images constituting child pornography from and to others with whom he communicated using his phone and the Internet.
As part of his plea, Flores-Torres admitted that he engaged in sexual contact with two minor victims under the age of 18 between April 1 and June 1 in 2018.
Homeland Security Investigations and Special Agent-in-Charge Kevin Kelly conducted the investigation.
Upon completion of his sentence, Flores-Torres could face deportation. His sentencing is scheduled for July 31.
