World-class music on tap this summer

Local News

The Keuka Lake Music Festival returns this summer with an expanded offering of world-class music.

Performances will be held June 7 through August 17.

Artistic Director and violinist Dylan Kennedy of Penn Yan and classical guitarist David Steinhardt of Pittsford discussed the Festival and shared their talents Monday during News 8 at Noon.

“So this Friday, we’re opening the season with Brothers Page,” said Kennedy. “It’s our one non-classical concert this summer. They’re Instagram stars with 1.8 million followers, and it’s a really exciting show, and we’d love to see everybody there.” They’ll take the stage at Penn Yan Academy.

Kennedy and Steinhardt will perform together on June 22 and August 3. The two artists shared a sampling of their talents and what people can expect during the Festival. “With the Eastman School of music here, of course, and a lot of smaller local music schools, it was just great inspiration growing up,” said Steinhardt. “The area has a lot of really amazing classical musicians, of course, and a great jazz scene with the Jazz Festival in the summer, and the Eastman program. So it was always inspiring growing up over here. And I think what Dylan’s really brought to the Keuka Festival is just such great local talent, both local talent and a lot of really neat international musicians coming from all around the world.”
