A woman has been charged with the murder of 33-year-old Megan Dix, of Lyndonville, Orleans County.
Holly Marie Colino, 31, pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Colino was arrested in Henrietta Monday night after deputies say she pointed a gun at a Sticky Lips employee.
Police say Colino admitted to killing Dix on Friday and provided key information to police regarding the crime. They say there is no connection between Colino and Dix, and that this was a random act of violence.
Dix was found dead Friday night with a single gunshot wound to her head in a parking lot in the Village of Brockport. Dix, a Lowe’s employee, had left for lunch break around 1 p.m. on Friday and never returned.
Colino is being held without bail in the Monroe County Jail.
