A Rochester woman has been charged after allegedly threatening to start a fire in the waiting area in the Rochester General Hospital Emergency Department on Portland Avenue.
On Sept. 8, investigators responded to the hospital and witnessed 43-year-old Latonya Williams brandishing an open flame of a lighter to ignitable combustibles while threatening to set an intentional fire to the building.
Investigators say no fire was set due to the action’s of hospital security .
On Oct. 18, Williams was charged with second-degree attempted arson.
Williams is currently in the Monroe County Jail awaiting arraignment.
