A Hamlin woman was arrested on DWI charges after police received multiple calls reporting a vehicle driving the wrong way on the Interstate.

On August 10, Livingston County Emergency Communications Center received several 911 calls of a vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 390 near the Town of Avon. Once Deputy Shawn Whitford arrived on the scene, he observed the vehicle in question traveling southbound in the northbound lanes. Deputy Whitford was ultimately able to get the vehicle to stop near the Town of Geneseo.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 58 year old Cynthia Harper. After a roadside DWI investigation it was concluded that Harper was under the influence of Alcohol.

Harper was taken to the Livingston County Jail. She was administered a breathalyzer test where it was found that she had a .14% BAC. Harper was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and driving the wrong way on a one way street.
