Witness to police incident says he’s being harassed

Local News

A witness who says he saw police rough up Rickey Bryant – a Rochester teenager who was wrongly detained following the Puerto Rican Festival – is saying he’s being harassed by police officers.

Bryant has filed a civil lawsuit against the Rochester police.

Now, the man who said he witnessed the whole thing and sides with Bryant’s story says officers are harassing him.

“I’m real scared about my life and my family because they’ve been harassing me and calling me saying they’ll go down to the police station,” said Pedro Luis Dejesus, who witnessed the incident.

Bryant’s mother says that the police still haven’t given her any answers.

In a statement, the RPD said, “As this is a pending civil litigation against the City of Rochester, the Rochester Police Department cannot comment further in regards to this matter.

“The Rochester Police Department takes every report of misconduct very seriously, and as such, we will conduct a thorough and complete investigation of any complaint reported to us.”
