WEBSTER, NY (WROC) — Spry Middle School is getting an upgrade with a new cafetorium.
Webster officials and students from the school attended a ground-breaking ceremony on Tuesday for the new space.
The school district says the new addition will not only serve as a needed upgrade for the school but goes a long way in making room for the arts.
“The auditorium here at Spry is from 1924, so it’s almost 100 years old and it has served us well,” said Superintendent Carmen Gumina. “But, it’s really ought to have converts here and to have drama and musicals, so we’re really excited to have something to showcase your talents and give you guys some space.”
The project also includes ADA-accessible bathrooms in all elementary buildings and converting the unused courtyard at Webster Thomas High School into a state-of-the-art media center.
