Memorial Day is of course a time to reflect on those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
Volunteers and local Boy Scout troops are taking the time to place flags on all 6,000 veterans’ graves at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester. This is the 17th year this event has been going on.
The weather is not playing an issue at all, but, of course, even if it was, they would still be out here as they have every single year on the Thursday before Memorial Day.
This event is of course very important, not only to the families of the Fallen Soldiers, but the Boy Scouts that are placing flags at each veteran’s grave.
“I think this is really important we are really honoring the lives of those who have sacrificed for our country,” says Joy Pierce.
“It’s really cool that we are honoring veterans from the past and it will make the cemetery look really nice,” adds Peter Clements.
