A video posted to Facebook appears to show a transformer explosion in Irondequoit on Wednesday.
According to Irondequoit Town Supervisor Dave Seeley, the explosion in the sewer near Ridge and Culver roads knocked out power for a couple hours.
Seeley says it appears the transformer overheated and exploded. In a video posted by Brian Stanton, smoke is seen coming from the manhole as cars drive by. Seconds later, an explosion is seen.
Power was restored around 9:30 p.m., Seeley tweeted.
