The Ontario County Office of the Sheriff has reported that on Tuesday at around 4:35 p.m., Joshua Busch, 22, of Victor was operating a jet ski with Luis Rivera, 21 from Rochester, on Canandaigua Lake.
According to deputies, Busch rode into a wave and temporarily lost control, ejecting Rivera. Rivera was struck in the head with the rear of the jet ski as he was ejected.
Deputies say two uninvolved boats assisted by transporting Busch, Rivera and the jet ski to the Canandaigua State Boat Launch.
Deputies say Rivera suffered a head contusion and was treated at the scene by Canandaigua Ambulance. Busch was not injured.
According to deputies, Busch was charged with Boating While Intoxicated and Boating While Intoxicated over .08%. He was issued tickets to appear in Canandaigua City Court at a later date and released.
