This Veterans Day, Rochester is giving thanks for the men and women who dedicated their lives to serve us.
As part of the day’s events, a ceremony was held at the Veterans Outreach Center, where a pergola was constructed to honor veterans, thanks to several local businesses.
Behind the pergola there is also a poem that describes the sacrifice veterans have made.
“If you read the words on the poem, it shows them how much they’re appreciated and honored in our community and I think it’s a nice addition to our facility here,” said Laura Stradley, Veterans Outreach Center executive director.
The pergola is intended to be a place of solace for veterans to quietly reflect.
