Monday morning, RIT honored veterans at their eighth annual Veterans Day breakfast.
Hundreds of veterans and their families came out to take part in this tradition. This year the event was focused on the impact World War II had on the mechanics school, now known as RIT.
“We really didn’t know the first time we did this how many people would show up, and over 300 people showed up,” said Barry Culhane, organizer. “And that told us that there was a need and now it’s grown by a couple hundred people.”
The Pittsford Fireman’s Band was there, recognizing veterans from all five military branches with the playing of their anthems.
