Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and Laura Stradley, Director of the Monroe County Veterans Service Agency, announced on Thursday an expansion of the Monroe County Veterans Discount Card Program.
The Monroe County VSA will be taking the Veterans Discount Card Program “on the road” to events throughout the community and bring with them the ability to print discount cards on site at no cost to the Veteran.
Local Veterans interested in obtaining a Veterans Discount Card can stop by any one of these upcoming local events:
- Valor Day: June 18th, MCC Brighton Campus– Warshof Conference Center, 1000 E. Henrietta Rd, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- Vets Driving Vets Orientation, June 22nd, Compeer Program Offices, 259 Monroe Ave, 10:00 a.m. – Noon
- Brookdale Assisted Living Facility, July 21st, 7 Chardonnay Dr, Fairport, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Senior Day at Ontario Beach Park, 4650 Lake Ave, August 19th, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
To obtain a Veterans Discount Card, veterans can provide a copy of their DD214 to representatives from the VSA who will make a certified copy, take a photo of the Veteran and print a card on the spot. No application is necessary and there is no fee involved.
The program offers discounted services from local businesses to honorably discharged Veterans, active duty military personnel and reservists.
Veterans Discount Cards are also available at the Monroe County VSA Office, 125 Westfall Rd, and the Monroe County Clerk’s Office, 39 W. Main St.
